Friends! Countrymen! (and folks who somehow got forwarded this message by mistake)

As some of you may or may not know, I used to be pretty active on the blog scene a while back. I mean like…waaay back; before the hayday of Myspace and Facebook. Back when only a handful of social misfits had the gaul (or foresight) to set up their own websites and allow complete strangers to take a voyeuristic peek into their lives.

Aaaah 2002….those where the good ole days.

At first being an “inner-net chick” was wonderful. But after years of running a website, building an online community, and even launching a few editions of an online magazine, one day I decided I needed a reprieve. The site had grown too big for me to maintain on my own. There were things in my personal life that I really needed to tend to before even beginning to worry about empowering anyone else. And frankly I was tired!

Fast Forward 4 years and a black president later….

Oh how things have changed.

The young, bright eyed, accidental web diva of the past is gone, replaced by….well…ME. (and if you know me that’s saying enough)

I’ve confronted my demons, slayed a truckload of dragons and even made a gaggle of cool new friends along the way.

30 has found me in a really good space, and now I’m finally ready to come out of hiatus.

And so it is my deep pleasure to announce to you that BlueCentric.com is officially up and ready for business.

It is a life and style blog maintained by yours truly, along with some of my dearest friends and most respected allies.

Arts and entertainment, health and beauty, social commentaries, and yes even a little bit of politics and current events thrown in for good measure. As the kids say, BlueCentric will “spill the tea” on all fronts with candor, wit and an ever present *raised brow*.

The site tagline is “where the intellectual and the whimsical meet”

Which basically means: even when we get deep, we know better than to ever take ourselves too seriously.

So it is with a warm heart and a big Koolaid smile that I ask you today to simply: log on! as frequently and often as you’d like.

Then tell all your friends, family, coworkers, parole officers, acquaintenances and anyone else you run into – to do the same.

And after you’re done with that – why not log into Facebook, Twitter, Blackplanet (is that still around?), Hot Male4Male (I don’t judge), or whatever other web medium you frequent and plug us like your rent is due over there too! When it comes to word of mouth the sky is the limit.

Oh and if you know any awesome writers looking to get some exposure – please send them my way, because being surrounded by talent makes me even happier than watching Golden Girls reruns.

I promise you…this is just the beginning…

Onward & Upward!
