Yesterday afternoon, I excitedly announced on Facebook, that President Obama and Toni Morrison were on CNN.

The occasion?

The Commander in Chief was presenting the novelist (and 12 others) with the 2012 Presidential Medal of Freedom at the White House. For those who aren’t aware – this is the highest honor that any civilians in the United States, can receive. It’s almost like our version of being “knighted”.

Other well deserving recipients included: former Secretary of State Madeline Albright, legendary singer Bob Dylan, astronaut John Glenn and former NCAA basketball coach Pat Summitt.
