Did You Enjoy The Best Year Of Your Life?

Over the weekend I had a great time at my bestfriend’s 32nd birthday party and as he blew out the candles, I found myself wishing that this would be his best year yet!

But statistically speaking, my warm wishes may have been a bit premature.

A new survey asked participants “What’s your favorite age?”. And when the results were tallied, a whopping 70% of people over 40 picked age 33 as the happiest and best of all time.

Psychologist Donna Dawson, says:

“The age of thirty-three is enough time to have shaken off childhood naivety and the wild scheming of teen-aged years without losing the energy and enthusiasm of youth. By this age innocence has been lost, but our sense of reality is mixed with a strong sense of hope, a “can do” spirit, and a healthy belief in our own talents and abilities. We have yet to develop the cynicism and world-weariness that comes with later years.”

That explanation is great, but as someone who has always jokingly referred to 33 as “The Jesus year” – I can’t help but wonder if some of us haven’t subconciously clocked it as a year when epic and/or awesome sh*t is just supposed to happen due to popular religious teachings.

Either way….this definately gives folks something to look forward to.

On the other side of the spectrum, only 6% said they were happiest in college. And I can’t imagine anyone picked their high school years. Who wants to admit they peaked at 17?!

Celebrities who are 33 this year:

Katie Holmes

Kate Hudson

Mena Suvari

Jennifer Love Hewitt

Rose Byrne

Adam Levine

Rosario Dawson

Tatyana Ali

Pink

Keshia Knight Pulliam

Kourtney Kardashian

Norah Jones
