Oscar winning actor Sean Penn puts his money where his mouth is when it comes to his charities; specifically his work in Haiti. Now, he is pulling out the “big guns” to increase awareness. This time with the help of his friend Oprah Winfrey!

Yesterday, the two toured the camp that was set up by Penn’s J/P Human Relief Organization to provide assistance to people displaced by the 2010 earthquake. So far, Penn’s organization has housed more than 50,000 people on what was once a 9-hole golf course. And even his staunchest critics *side-eye to Wyclef* can’t front that this man is passionate about helping rebuild the small country – well after the media has moved on.

In related news: Reality star Kim Kardashian, who has been under scrutiny lately due to her short-term marriage, has also retreated to the country.

Joining her are her mother Kris Jenner, designer Donna Karan, actress Patricia Arquette, and members of the charitable organization, We Advance, a group dedicated to the advancement of women in Haiti. Actress Maria Bello, who stars in the new tv show ‘Prime Suspect’, co-founded the organization and is leading the trip.

A source close to Kardashian recently told PEOPLE magazine:

“Her intention was always to take the end of the year to focus on some of the other things that are important to her and this trip was one.”

Riiiiight. Whatever you say.
